We have put together a package of information here that should explain what you should expect to see when choosing the right early pregnancy scan and your early pregnancy scan week to week progression.
firstScan @ Window to the Womb offer early pregnancy scans from 6 weeks gestation. This is calculated using your last menstrual cycle dates or if you are unsure of this for any reason we would always recommend booking atleast 2 weeks following a positive pregnancy test to ensure you are a minimum of 6 weeks but this will be confirmed at your appointment.
- What should I see at 6 weeks?
- What should I see at 7 weeks?
- What should I see at 9 weeks?
- What should I see at 10 weeks?
All our early pregnancy scans will:
- Confirmation of an intrauterine pregnancy
- Check for single or multiple pregnancy
- Visualisation of heartbeat
- Assessment of ovaries and pelvic area
- Estimated dating of your pregnancy by measurements
- Early pregnancy obstetric report
However you should book the package that best suits your need for the early pregnancy scan based on your own personal circumstances.
- The primary purpose of this scan is to confirm viability of an intrauterine pregnancy and determine health.
- The scans will last about 10 minutes and a 2D scan picture will be given to you to take home and keep.
- All early scans are performed by a qualified diagnostic Sonographer.
- Our early pregnancy scans are available to women over 18 years of age or to women of 16 and 17 years who attend with a responsible adult.
- Should ongoing care be required our team will make a follow up appointment at your local NHS trust.
- Please note, to book a scan with firstScan, a positive pregnancy test result is required.
